Off the Richter Scale Series: Co-presented by Oakland Book Festival

Beneath the arguments over Bay Area gentrification and housing shortages, there lies a deeper, even global, conflict. Is it possible for cities to foster wealth and accommodate growth without bulldozing the past and deepening inequality? This panel examines what a city that promotes cosmopolitan interests alongside the rights of all its citizens, rich and poor, might look like. FREE

Complimentary coffee provided by Nomadic Ground.
